Last race: Flushing boys cross country coach George Hackney nearing the end of a 27-year journey

FLINT, MI –Kevin Foltz’s first time trial as a member of theFlushing's boys cross country team was almost his last.

As a freshman in the fall of 1992, Foltz established himself as the Raiders’ top runner, distancing the field at the team’s time trials, a feat he knew wouldn’t sit well with the Raiders’ upperclassmen.

“I thought the guys would hate me,” Foltz said. “I went home and cried, I didn’t want to go back.”
