More coverage from New Balance Nationals

The Bullis girls kept their weekend rolling with greatness at the New Balance Nationals on Sunday in the relays as their 44.88 meet record in the 4x100 meter relay finals broke the state record as well and was less than 4 tenths of a second off the national record of 44.50. In another show of their depth, their "B" squad earned All-American honors in the finals as well with 45.70 clocking for fourth place.

Earlier in the day, Bullis girls were national runners-up in the 800 meter sprint medley relay with a 1:43.43 performance.

To cap off their weekend, Bullis girls won yet another national title holding off Miami Northwestern in the championship girls 4x400 meter relay with a time of 3:39.30. Another state record time breaking the previous record of 3:39.44 by the 2006 Eleanor Roosevelt squad at the Penn Relays.

In the boys 800 meter run, Riley McDermott of Middletown took his breakthrough season within the state of Maryland to the national level grabbing All-American honors with a third place finish in the championship boys 800 with a time of 1:51.67.

Oxon Hill's Gary Ross may have found himself on the top 6 podium if not for a busy weekend and likely tired legs from two 1:50 800 relay splits and sub 47 second 400 leg over the prior two days as he finished 9th overall in the 800 with a time of 1:52.81. His teammate Aaron Robinson likewise just missed All-American honors with a 7th place finish overall in the boys 400 meter dash with a 47.07 clocking after winning his slow section race.

Dalton Hengst doubled back for his second All-American honor of the weekend after taking 6th place in the two mile run on Saturday, the McDonogh School junior placed 3rd in the championship boys mile on Sunday with a time of 4:15.06.

The Springbrook boys rolled in the unseeded morning sections of the 4x400 meter relay with a time of 3:18.29, which had held up for a top 6 position until the fast section came up which saw 6 teams run 3:14 or faster including Oxon Hill in 5th place with a time of 3:13.92 to add to their impressive haul of All-American relay medals over the weekend in Greensboro.

A pair of great marks in the boys long jump from the state of Maryland from Baltimore Poly's William Henderson in third place at 24'2.25" and Frederick Douglass' Kollin Smith in fourth place at 24'0.25" to find them both on the All-American podium.
