Dustin Horter can add Ohio's Track & Field Gatorade Player of the Year to his extensive list of accomplishments.  The Lakota East graduate was recognized with this honor due to his exceptional senior season.  Horter won the 1600m event at the DI State Championship with his time of 4:06.96 and he followed that up by claiming the 1 Mile race win at the Brooks PR Invitational in Washington due to his 4:04.68 effort.  The Indiana University signee also won Ohio's Cross Country Gatorade Player of the Year this past fall.

MileSplit Ohio tracked down Dustin for his reaction to being named Ohio's POY.

It is a huge honor for me to win the Gatorade Player of the Year for track and field.  It's pretty rare to see a distance runner win the award and it's a dream come true.  I wouldn't want to have the season any other way and I know that I gave my absolute all in order to get to this point.
