Grace Stark To Compete At Youth Olympic Games


The accolades continue to pile up for White Lake Lakeland stand-out, Grace Stark.  The senior's latest achievement was receiving notice that she's been selected to represent Team USA at the upcoming Youth Olympic Games, which is scheduled to take place from October 6th to 18th in Buenos Aires, Argentina.  

Stark, who will compete in the 100m hurdles event, will travel to South America full of confidence after enjoying an outstanding year on the track.  She was the New Balance Nationals Outdoor winner, the MHSAA State Champion (LP-1) and the runner-up at the USATF National Junior Olympic Track & Field Championships.  She owns a pr of 13.16.

MileSplit reached Grace to inquire about her reaction to the news of being selected for the team and to learn about how her training has been going of late. 

"I am very excited about this opportunity!  I think it'll be a great learning experience and I'm also planning on having a lot of fun.  I've been back to serious training for about a month now; I took a few weeks off following the USATF Nationals.  Currently, I'm ending my pre-season phase and I'm getting ready to start speed work this week."
