The UDM men's and women's track and field team will have one last meet before the Christmas break as the Titans head West to Allendale for the Grand Valley State Holiday Open on Friday. 

The meet is a two-day affair with the multi events actually starting tonight, but no Titan will compete in the heptathlon or the pentathlon. Detroit will start the competition with the field events at 4 p.m. 

UDM started the indoor season two weeks ago at Notre Dame's Blue & Gold meet. The men won three events and were led by junior Earnest Cleary (Detroit, MI/Ferndale), who won the 60-meters in a school record 6.86. That run propelled Cleary to earn the Horizon League Track Athlete of the Week on Dec. 8.

The women turned in a number of fine performances themselves that led the Titans to sweeping the HL awards with junior Sequoyia Calhoun (Belleville, MI/Belleville) as the track winner after breaking the UDM 400m for a second-place finish in 57.81. Senior Brittany Horne (Okemos, MI/Okemos) won the only event with a career-best 17.10m mark in the weight as well as posting a fourth-place effort with an indoor shot put personal record of 13.10m.
