The opening of the Georgia Tech Invitational took place on Friday with three Titan sprinters running in the 100 meter time trials at Griffin Track.

The “Last Chance” meet for Detroit saw all three runners post impressive numbers, but just did not qualify for Saturday's finals.

Sophomore Vushaun Landrum (Windsor, ON/Sandwich Secondary) was the top finisher with a time of 10.85 for 53rd place. Junior Earnest Cleary (Detroit, MI/Ferndale) was behind him clocking a 10.94 in his heat for 58th, while senior Deonte Osayande (Detroit, MI/Winans Academy) crossed the finish line in 10.96 for 63rd.

All three runners will be in action on Saturday as the trio joins junior Lesley Hanna (Exuma, Bahamas/Coakley) in the 200m. Hanna will also run the 400m looking to improve on his current standing of 52nd in the East with a time of 47.37. Freshman Anthony Donald (Waterville, OH/Anthony Wayne) will round out the Titan competitors as he is entered in the 400 meter hurdles.
