HLN Interview With Ryan Ayala On The Titan YouTube Channel

INDIANAPOLIS – The people have spoken and their choice is from the Motor City as cross country senior Ryan Ayala (Coopersville, MI/Coopersville) was named the recipient of this week's Horizon League Network's 'The People's Choice' award.

The conference sponsors the interactive poll every week by letting the fans vote for their 'People's Choice' out of all the weekly athletes of the week. Ayala was one of two Titans vying for the honor along with Alexandria Vintevoghel (Casco, MI/Marine City) from the women's cross country team.

As the victor of this week's poll, the reigning HL Cross Country Athlete of the Week chatted with HLN's Jaclyn Bevis.

Ayala earned the distinction after leading the Titans at the 8k Michigan Intercollegiate last Friday in a time of 27:25. He ended the race in 33rd place out of 206 runners.

He is the second Titan to earn the 'People's Choice' following former women's basketball standout Brigid Mulroy, who won the accolade twice last year.
