Mooney Sets PR at Simmons-Harvey Invite

ANN ARBOR -- The women's track and field team traveled to Ann Arbor to compete in the Simmons-Harvey Invite this weekend. The meet was held at the U-M Indoor Track Building. There was no team scoring.

Brandee Hart (Oak Park, MI, Berkley) won the first heat of the 60-meter hurdles. Hart advanced to the finals running in 9.52. The finals didn't go as well for Hart as she took seventh place crossing the line at 9.91. 

Nicole Meisner (Huntington Woods, MI, Berkley)Taylor Ragland (Columbus, OH, Whitehall-Yearling)Nikia Duncan (Murrieta, CA, Murrieta), Hart, and Sequoyia Calhoun (Belleville, MI, Belleville) all competed in the 60-meter dash in multiple heats. Calhoun ran the fastest time of any Titan in the prelim (8.07) pushing her through to the finals. The senior moved to 11th all-time in the 60 with a time of 8.01 in the finals. She placed fifth. Duncan also ran in the finals and she set a new personal record at 8.08.

Calhoun also competed in the 200-meter dash. She won her heat with a time of 26.46. Elizabeth Arroyo ( Dearborn Heights, MI, Divine Child) also ran well with a time of 28.49.

Kirstin Mooney (Stirling ON, St. Theresa Catholic) ran well for Detroit in the 800-meter run. Mooney led her heat the entire way as she set a new personal record clocking in at 2:19.45. She is now seven on the Titan Top 10 list.
