Titans Wrap Up Day One

Day One Results

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – The men's track and field team got the outdoor season underway by completing day one of the Colonial Relays.

Detroit was well represented in the 100-meter dash. Earnest Cleary (Detroit, MI, Ferndale )Deonte Osayande (Detroit, MI, Winans Academy) and Vushaun Landrum (Windsor, ON, Sandwich Secondary) will all run in the finals tomorrow.

In the prelims Cleary ran an 11.23, while Osayande was right there at 11.24.  Landrum ran an 11.31. All three Titans advanced to the semifinals. The group ran well with Osayande running an 11.07, Cleary clocked in at 11.17, and Landrum was right behind him at 11.18.

Landrum and Osayande ran well in the 200-meter dash. Landrum took seventh place with a time of 22.32, while Osayande was behind him in eighth (22.33). Cleary was also in action in the 200m. He finished in 23.02.

Lesley Hanna (Exuma, Bahamas, Coakley) won the 400-meter dash. Hanna won the first heat with a time of 48.48. Joe Raffin (Valparaiso, IN, Chesterton) was also in action. He clocked in at 50.47.

Anthony Donald (Waterville, OH, Anthony Wayne) and Vince Lefler (Midland, MI , Midland) finished in ninth and tenth respectively in the 400-meter hurdles. Donald set a personal record clocking in at 55.09. Lefler was not far off from his personal best with a time of 55.56. Hennrick also set a PR in the event. He finished in 57.36.

Taylor Hennrick (Traverse City, MI, St. Francis) and Aviram Campbell (Yale, MI, Yale) ran the 110-meter hurdles for Detroit. Hennrick just missed making the semifinals clocking in with a personal record (15.65). Campbell finished 24th in the prelims with a time of 16.07.

Patrick Liederbach (Petoskey, MI, Petoskey) led Detroit in the 5,000-meter run. The senior finished the race in 14:47.45. Edwin Gay (Grosse Pointe, MI, GP South) and Ryan Ayala (Coopersville, MI, Coopersville) also ran in the 5000m. Gay set a new PR with a time of 15:34.92, while Ayala clocked in at 15:52.12.

Detroit had two runners in the steeplechase. Brian Greenhoe (Sand Lake, MI, Grant) edged Kevin Smalley (Gladwin, MI, Gladwin) by two seconds to finish 25th overall. Greenhoe crossed the finish line in 10:19.57, while Smalley was close behind at 10:21.41.

Ja'Quan Patterson (Ypsilanti, MI, Ypsilanti) placed 13th in the long jump. Patterson leaped 21-2.75. Floyd Hoskin also competed. His jump of 20-6.25 put him in 23rd place.
