2012 College Signings: Why They Chose Their Schools

College signings are always interesting to see, but everybody wonders why one athlete chose one schol and why another athlete chose a different school.  Inside you will find out why certain athletes chose the school that they did in their own words.

Let OHRunners know where you will be competing in college by sending an email to jimfindlay1@gmail.com.  Be sure to include your name, your high school, your college choice and your specialty or specialties (such as distance, XC, sprints, hurdles, pole vault, high jump, horizontal jumps, or throws).  If you signed a National Letter of Intent, please include a picture of you signing or at the very least, a picture of you wearing gear form your chosen school.

Mack Tudor on why he chose Tiffin University

"I decided that Tiffin University was the best place to give me academic success with their low student to teacher ratios.  Tiffin professors will actually come to know me as a person.  The University is safe, clean, and the only place that had a professor meet with me on my college visit.  I came away from my visit feeling that every faculty, coach, and employee had my best interest in mind.  While I traveled three hours, in a sense I came home to Tiffin.

Athletically, there is so much Tiffin has to offer.  Throwing coach Ray Robinson comes across like the guy you want to hang out with but displays extraordinary efforts in his closeness to his athletes and intenseness to his coaching commitment.  His work in bringing in the World Throws Center with nine time Olympian John Godina is the type of program I want to be associated with to reach my full potential.  Tiffin had 8 national qualifiers last year while competing in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.  This conference has some of the best throwers in the nation.  Add to all of this a new weight room, new outdoor throwing facilities, and the almost finished 12 million dollar recreation center that will house a 10 lane championship track with an indoor throwing room and what thrower wouldn’t want to come to Tiffin."
