OAA Blue Division
Track and Field League Championships

When: Thursday, May 08, 2014
Field Events begin at 4:15 p.m. Running prelims will begin at 5:00 p.m.
Where: Bloomfield Hills High School (3456 Lahser Road, Bloomfield Hills, MI. 48302).
Bloomfield Hills High School is located on Lahser Road, between Hickory Grove Road
and Long Lake Road. Parking may be limited early, school gets out at 2:30 p.m. Also,
there is a scheduled baseball game at 4:30 p.m. Please do not set up any tents in the baseball outfield.

Bloomfield Hills H.S., Royal Oak H.S. and Troy Athens H.S.
Rain Date: Friday, May 09, 2014 (same format)
Volunteer
Workers: Each school has been asked to work a particular field event. Here are the assignments: Royal Oak (high jump), Seaholm (long jump), Avondale (discus), Troy Athens (shot put), Groves (exchange zone judges) and Bloomfield Hills (finish line, scoring table and extra workers).
Scoring: 10-8-6-4-2-1.
Timing: The OAA Blue Division League Championships will be F.A.T. (Fully Automated Timing).
Awards: Top 5 medal in the individual events. The top 3 relay teams will also medal.
Facility: We have an 8 lane track with a turf infield. Only athletes competing in an upcoming event may be on the infield. Long Jump is located at the north end of the track by the first and second turn. High Jump is located on the south end of the track by the third and fourth turns. Shot Put and Discus areas are located outside of the track at the south-east end.
Concessions/
Restrooms: There will be a fully stocked concession stand located at the south end of the track. The restrooms are located at the concessions building.
Trainer: There will be a trainer (John Ciecko) on site.
Results: Results will be emailed to coaches and athletic directors.
Spectator Fee: $5.00 fee at the gate.
Entries: You are initially allowed four entries per individual event (scratching to three) and one relay team. Entries must be submitted online using www.athletic.net (see attached online instructions), NO LATER THAN 10:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 6th. Questions regarding entries should be directed to Michael Newton (mnewton@milesplit.com).
Relay cards will be provided in your packets. You will need to fill them out and turn them in to the scoring tent (located in the infield).
Scratches/replacements can be done the day of the meet. The field events and preliminary scratches/replacements need to be turned in at the coaches meeting.

Field Events: Shot Put/Discus/Long Jump Top 7 move on to finals, 3 + 3 format.
For Long Jump; boys and girls will have a 90 minute open pit, then the girls finals will be run. Immediately following the girls finals, the boys will have their finals. Preliminary jumps will be carried over.
Preliminary throws will be carried through to the finals as well.
High Jump will be done in a five alive format. Opening Heights:
Boys start at 50, then 53, then 56, then 2 raises.
Girls start at 40, then 43, then 46, then 2 raises.

Here are the tentative plans for prelims:
If there are 16 entries or less, then we will run 2 heats with the top 4
advancing to the finals. If there are more than 16 entries, then we will
run 4 heats with the top 2 advancing to the finals. We can discuss
changes at the coaches meeting or through prior emails.

Follow the 4 steps below to get started:
1. Sign up for a free coach account
(if you do not have one)
Go to: www.athletic.net
Click on 'Sign up' in the upper right-hand corner
Complete the signup wizard
After receiving the confirmation email, go on to #2
2. Add meets to your season calendar
Login to Athletic.net using your email address and password
Click "Coach Tools" under the main navigation bar
Click "Team Home"
Click "Add Meet" above your calendar box
Where it says "Meet ID:" enter 208626 and click Add
Review the information and click Save and Continue >
You may need to click Save and Continue > again
Repeat this process for the rest of your season calendar (You can also add other meets, even if you don't know the Meet ID. Just select your state and click "Next >" instead of entering your meet ID.)
Verify that your calendar is correct. Use the Edit button next to meets to make corrections
3. Enter team roster
Click "Coach Tools"
Click Edit Athletes
Add athletes to the roster manually, or upload your roster using the "Upload Athlete Roster" option
4. Register athletes for the OAA Blue Championships
Locate OAA Blue Championships on your team's main track and field page and click on the meet name
In the blue dropdown, click "Register Athletes"
Click on an event name, or athlete name to begin registering
Choose the correct division to enter athlete in
Click "Save Changes"
Use the boxes on the bottom of the page to add additional athletes to your roster
You can use the meet registration feature of Athletic.net for all your meets. You can print out and fax the entries, or the host team can download them from the website, all for free.
Tips
Large teams often have each of their coaches sign in to register the athletes they are responsible for.
By printing and faxing your entries, you can use the meet registration feature of Athletic.net even if the host isnt using the site to download entries!
