Ben Barton / Birmingham Seaholm
Ben Barton claimed a pair of event wins along with a runner-up finish at the highly competitive Oakland County Championship, which was hosted by Novi this past weekend.
The Birmingham Seaholm senior recorded an outstanding time of 37.66 on route to winning the 300m hurdles race. This result represents a MI No. 2 (overall), a US tie for No. 32 for senior athletes and a new pr. Barton also jumped 6-6 for the high jump win. He's ranked second in Michigan from a previous performance this season (6-9 at the MHSAA LP Regional 06-1 at West Bloomfield). To complement his victories, Barton placed second in the 110m hurdles event due to his 15:00 effort. This time stands for a tie for the twenty-fourth best result in the state during the 2018 outdoor campaign as well as another pr.
