Michigan Athletes In Running For Performer Of The Week Honor

Cole Johnson is one of three Michigan athletes up for the 'Performer of the Week' honor.

Many athletes from Michigan posted nationally noteworthy results at last weekend's MHSAA State Championship LP-1 at East Kentwood.  However three performers, in particular, caught the attention of MileSplit USA's content team and they've been named candidates for this past week's 'Performer of the Week' recognition.

Rockford's Cole Johnson claimed wins in the 800m and 1600m races due to his impressive times of 1:53.11 and 4:08.47.  Both results stand for Michigan No. 2's this season and his 1600m effort places him at number eleven in the country's rankings.

Oak Park's Miyah Brooks won the 400m race with her Michigan No. 1 time of 55.12 and Grace Stark picked up a pair of event wins.  The White Lake Lakeland junior placed first in the 100m and 100m hurdles races due to her times of 11.74 and 13.16, respectively.  Stark's 100m hurdles result represents a Michigan 1 and a US No. 2 while her 100m effort is a tie for the second best showing in the state this season.

Voting closes soon so help these deserving athletes out with your support!
