Nick Foster Records US No. 6 On Route To Jackson Invite Win

The accolades continue to pile up for Ann Arbor Pioneer senior, Nick Foster.  Following his dominant win at last week's Jackson Invitational, where he clocked a Michigan No. 1 / US No. 6 time of 15:03.10, Foster has moved up to number two in the MileSplit 50 subjective rankings.  The performance at Jackson represents a new 5K pr for the 2017 LP-1 State Champion.

Foster put a twenty-three second gap on the race's runner-up on the way to collecting his fourth consecutive victory.  Subsequent to this meet, he claimed first place at the SEC Red Division Jamboree 2 on September 25th, which makes him five for five in 2018.  His other triumphs occurred at the Saline Hornet Early Bird meet, the SEC Jamboree 1 and the MSU Spartan Invitational

Foster's showing at the Jackson Invite put him in contention for the September 17th - 23rd MileSplit USA Performer of the Week honor.

MileSplit Michigan reached Nick to gain insight on his state leading result.

I had an awesome time this past week at Jackson.  The weather was perfect so I wanted to give a solid effort.  The race went out relatively quick and I just wanted to maintain it all the way through to the finish.  I want to keep building up throughout the season and into the post-season. Training this summer was the best I've ever had; I got really consistent miles in and I felt great.  Now that I'm starting to throw some tough workouts in, I'm feeling really fit.  I'm hoping that our team can keep improving and get all of our guys back from injury.  We are looking to build up a really strong team that can give a good effort at the State Championship.
