Portage Invitational - Varsity Race Winners

           Nick Foster / Ann Arbor Pioneer 

Foster went 15:12.80 in the Division 1 race for his sixth first place finish in as many starts this season.  The Ann Arbor Pioneer senior is ranked second on the MileSplit 50 list and due to his 15:03.10 effort at September's Jackson Invitational, he owns the country's twenty-fourth best 5K performance of 2018. 

           Alex Comerford / Otsego 

Comerford ran the day's fastest time, as he cruised in for the Division 2 victory in 15:10.10.  The future Syracuse University athlete is represented in the MileSplit 50 rankings at number thirteen.

           Sam Sharnas / Holland Black River 

Sharnas posted a time of 16:11.60 to claim the Division 3 win.  The Holland Black River senior has placed in the top 3 in all seven of his races this season.  Due to his pr of 15:52.00 which he achieved at August's Muskegon Catholic Central Invite, Sharnas is ranked nineteenth among Michigan's 2019 grads. 

           Corey Gorgas / Saugatuck 

Gorgas dominated the Division 4 contest, winning by 38 seconds.  His time was 15:44.90.  He's taken three wins and a runner-up finish in 2018 and his 15:13.30 clocking from September's MSU Spartan Invitational stations him at No. 5 in the state rankings.
