Cahokia anchor Keveion Akins put the finishing touches on a dominating relay win
Make no mistake about it, 2015 was an excellent year for track and field in Illinois. Cahokia, in particular, had a great team meet but there is one race that comes to mind.
The 4x200 often gets overlooked because it's contested in less than half of the state meets. Still, there is some very athletic personnel who compete on it in championship time. One such competitor is perhaps the best track and field athlete of all time Ja'mari Ward. The nation's top jumper ran the second leg and really opened things up for his team who crushed a good field.
