Chanel Brissett, the 2019 NCAA 60m hurdles champion, has transferred from the University of Southern California to Texas, the Longhorns announced on Monday.

Brissett, who was runner-up in the 100m hurdles at the 2019 NCAA outdoor championships and led-off the Trojans' national championship 4x100 relay, will have two seasons of outdoor eligibility remaining and one indoors.

The 20-year-old Philadelphia native set her 12.52 100m hurdles personal best in that NCAA final last June in Austin.

Brissett, a 2017 graduate of Cheltenham, was an all-time great hurdles athlete in Pennsylvania and a blue-chip recruit out of high school, where she left with a 100mH PR of 12.95, a time she recorded at the U.S. Olympic Track and Field Trials -- it is also tied as the fourth-best prep performance ever recorded in high school.

Brissett also ran high school best times of 11.74 in the 100m and 23.98 in the 200m.

Joining Longhorn head coach Edrick Floreal's training group comes with the perks of working alongside 100m hurdles world record holder Keni Harrison, not to mention current Texas hurdle athletes such as Tara Davis (Agoura, Class of 2017), Brooke Jaworski (Wasau West, Clas of 2019) and incoming recruits Aasia Laurencin (Oak Park, Class of 2020) and Emelia Chatfield (St. Thomas Aquinas, Class of 2020).

Coach "Flo" has had numerous NCAA champions in the hurdles, most recently Jasmine Camacho Quinn (100mH) and Sydney McLaughlin (400mH) in 2018 while at Kentucky.
