ALLENDALE, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) — The Eastern Michigan University men's indoor track and field squad sent competitors to the Grand Valley State University Big Meet here Friday-Saturday, Feb. 12-13, as well as sending several student-athletes to the University of Akron Invitational in Akron, Ohio. The Eagles came up with outstanding efforts at both venues.

Junior Ackeem Forde (Haynesville, Barbados-Colleridge & Parry School) led the Eagles at Grand Valley with a second-place finish in the 200-meters in 21.63 and a fourth-place spot in the 400-meter invitational in 48.22. David Brent (Monroe, Mich.-St. Mary's) was second in the 800-meter invitational in 1:50.04. Gerald Gersham (Southfield, Mich.-Southfield) was first in the open shot put at Grand Valley with a toss of 58-2.5.

Gregor Harzer was outstanding for the Eagles at the Akron Invitational, finishing sixth in the heptathlon with 4,828 points. Adam McMillian (Ann Arbor, Mich.-Huron) was third in the Blue Division of the pole vault at 15-1.00.
