Pfeiffer, Joseph, Figgins, Hendrix each comes up big for Eagles

— Four athletes earned individual victories for the Eastern Michigan University men's track and field team at the Silverston Invitational, Saturday, Feb. 20, in Ann Arbor, Mich.


Andrew Pfeiffer (Clarence, N.Y. -Clarence), Vaneir Joseph (Redford, Mich.-Thurston), Blake Figgins (Detroit, Mich.-Mumford (Missouri)) and Austin Hendrix (Sylvania, Ohio-Northview) all took home top honors in their respective races for the Eagles. Pfeiffer won the mile with a time of 4:18.61. Joseph took the 60-meter high hurdles with a time of 8.12 seconds. The transfer from Missouri, Figgins, hit a mark of 1:20.09 in the 600-meter run. And Hendrix crossed the line in the 800 at 1:57.15.

The Eagles 4x400-meter relay team also won its race as Nathan Blackwell (Kalamazoo, Mich. -Central) anchored the team to victory.

The Eagles will return to action on Feb. 26-27 in the Mid-American Conference Championship at host site Central Michigan University.
