Two Titans Leave Mark in UDM Record Books at Day Two of Bison Outdoor Classic

On Saturday, it was time to go fast in Lewisburg, PA, at the Bison Outdoor Classic track meet. After the Titans competed in the distance events Friday night, sprinters took the oval Saturday, and a host of Detroit runners clocked personal bests and etched their names into the UDM record books.

The Titan duo of freshmen Anthony Donald (Waterville, OH/Anthony Wayne) and Vincent Lefler (Midland, MI/Midland) moved onto the UDM top 10 list in the 400 meter hurdles. Competing in the same heat, Donald was the first to cross the line with the ninth-fastest Titan time in 55.87 seconds, and hot on his heels, placing second in the heat, was Lefler with the No. 10 time in the UDM books of 56.07.

Lefler was also in action the 100 meter hurdles, where he clocked another PR, by a narrow .04 seconds, with a time of 15.58.

The Detroit men's 4 x 400 meter relay team consisting of junior Lesley Hanna (Exuma, Bahamas/Coakley), sophomore Loe LaRocca (Eastpointe, MI/De LaSalle Collegiate), senior Kevin Wozniak (Dearborn Hts., MI/Edsel Ford) and senior Deonte Osayande (Detroit, MI/Winans Academy) blazed its way around the track in 3:21.59, the best Titan time of the season to date.

Hanna and LaRocca each ran the individual 400 meter dash as well, where Hanna was sixth across the line in the fast heat, rounding the track in 49.06 seconds, and LaRocca covered the distance in 50.92 seconds, the fastest time of his heat.

Equaling Hanna's placing in the 400 meters, sophomore Vushaun Landrum (Windsor, ON/Sandwich Secondary) ran a 10.78 second 100 meter dash, good for sixth place in the fast heat.

Detroit will be in action twice over the next week, beginning Thursday when the Titans make their lone home appearance of the outdoor season, hosting Oakland University for a dual meet beginning at 4:00 p.m. UDM will then stay nearby on Friday and Saturday, taking part in the EMU Twilight meet in Ypsilanti.
