KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (EMUEagles.com) – Day two of the Tennessee Sea Relays was highlighted by a win in the 4x100-meter dash for the Eastern Michigan University men's track and field team. The Eagles quartet beat out 10 other schools, including Mid-American Conference foe Kent State University, to earn the victory.
The 4x200-meter relay team also competed well, finishing second in the field, while the distant medley relay team finished fourth with a time of 9:55.95.
Highlights from day one include sophomore runner #Cole Sanseverino# finishing fourth in the 1,500-meter run with a time of 3:51.01, and #Curtis Vollmar# also taking fourth in the 10,000-meter run with a time of 30:24.66.
The Eagles also sent some athletes to the Northeast Ohio Quad at the University of Akron. Matt Hammersmith won the 3,000-meter steeplechase and Oliver Walther posted second and third-place finishes in the triple and long jumps, respectively.
The Eagles will compete next weekend, April 16-17, in the EMU Twilight at Olds Track in Rynearson Stadium.
