EMU Twilight Complete Results (HTML)
Day two of action at the EMU Twilight meet in Ypsilanti, MI, featured the fast events, and UDM junior
Sequoyia Calhoun (Belleville, MI/Belleville) led the Titan women's charge with a ninth-place finish in the 400 meter dash.
Calhoun covered the distance in 60.28 seconds, the gusting winds and chilly temps playing a factor, as the junior covered the same distance nearly two seconds faster on the track at Titan Field Thursday during the UDM-OU Dual.
Also representing the red, white and blue in the 400 field was sophomore
Susan Kalkstein (New Kensington, PA/Burrell). Kalkstein raced her way to a .24 second personal best, finishing in 13th in a time of 61.15 seconds.
Freshman
Amanda Hollern (Grand Rapids, MI/Catholic Central) and senior
Megan Miller (Zanesville, OH/Zanesville) also notched 13th-place finishes Saturday. Hollern ran as the top Titan in the 100 meter dash in a time of 12.92 seconds, and Miller competed in the 800 meter run where she circled the oval twice in 2:25.09.
Senior
Chantel Henry (Tecumseh, ON/St. Anne's) ran the 100 meter hurdles in 16.91 seconds to place 16th, and rookie
Nikia Duncan (Murrieta, CA/Murrieta) joined Hollern in the 100, running 17th in 13.34.
No team scores were kept at the meet.
Next on tap for the Titans are the Penn and Hillsdale Relays. Detroit will be represented in Philadelphia, PA, by a handful of athletes at the prestigious Penn Relays on Thursday and Friday, April 22-23, while the rest of the squad will compete in Hillsdale, MI, Friday and Saturday.
