COLUMBUS, OHIO (EMUEagles.com) – This weekend was highlighted with a third-place finish in the 4x400-meter relay race for Eastern Michigan University women's track and field team as the squad competed at the 25th Annual Jesse Owens Track Classic at The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio.

The foursome of LaDonna St. Louis, Shantavia Williams, Naomi Andre and Asia Rawls finished the race in a time of 3:45.58, the fourth-best time in the Mid-American Conference this year. The same team posted the second-fastest time in the MAC just a week ago during the Penn Relays when it posted a time of 3:42.67.

Senior pole vaulter Jessica Novakowski also had a stellar outing. She was able to clear a height of 12-07.50, the fifth-best clearance in the conference this year and just one inch shy of her season-best. She placed fourth in the event out of more than 35 competitors.

Freshman distance runner Courtney Calka had a top-10 finish in 5,000-meter run as she crossed the finish line in 17:27.75. The Eagles other top-10 finisher was ReJeana Marigna, as she finished ninth in the 200-meter dash in a time of 24.74.

The Green and White have one more tune-up event, the Paddock Invitational at the University of Michigan, May 7-8, before the MAC Championship on May 13, 14 and 15 in Buffalo, N.Y.
