Oregon Twilight Results
Len Paddock Invitational Results
Titans were in the Midwest and West on Saturday as a split squad of Detroit runners competed at the annual Oregon Twilight while others stayed in Michigan to run in the Len Paddock Invitational.
At historic Hayward Stadium on the campus of the University of Oregon, seven Titans put in some fine performances in front of more than 6,100 track fans. The facility, which will be the site of the 2010 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships, has also hosted such events as the USATF Championships, multiple US Track and Field Olympic Trials and will be the future host of the 2011 USA Outdoor Track & Field Championships.
“A great experience for all of us to visit Track Town,” said head coach
Guy Murray. “This is the Carnegie Hall of track. A 6,000 meet for a Pac-10 tune-up says it all. We did a nice job in some tough spots where we were in over our heads and it is always tough the week after the Horizon League Championships.”
The best run of the day came from junior
Pat Liederbach (Petoskey, MI/Petoskey) as he set a personal record with a time of 3:52.80 in the 1500 meters, good for fifth place. Also taking part in the 1500m was senior
Alex Gould (Comstock Park, MI/Comstock Park), who placed 12th in 3:57.60.
Junior
Kevin Smalley (Gladwin, MI/Gladwin) had the next-best finish, earning ninth in the 3000m steeplechase in 10:13.72.
The 5000m saw juniors

Alex Harris (Huntington Woods, MI/Shrine) finish back-to-back as Ayala was 13th with a 15:28.79, while Harris took 14th in 15:40.01.
The 800m also had two UDM runners with junior
Matt Mahler (Thorold, ON/Denis Morris Catholic) claiming 11th in a time of 1:58.29. Senior
Kevin Wozniak (Dearborn, MI/Edsel Ford) clocked a 1:59.55 for 14th.
At the Len Paddock Invitational, hosted by the University of Michigan, another group of Titans posted five top 10 performances.
