Buffalo, N.Y. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University women's track and field team advanced nine runners in six different events by posting top times Friday, May 14, the second day of the three-day long Mid-American Conference Championships in Buffalo, N.Y.

ReJeana Marigna advanced to the finals of both the 100-meter dash and the 200-meter dash. She finished second in the shorter of the two races and eighth in the longest of them. Lauren Quaintance, turned in the fifth-best time in the conference this year in the 800-meter dash as she was the first to cross the line during that race in the preliminaries. She will also advance to the finals tomorrow.

The other Eagle qualifiers were Ashlee Abraham, Naomi Andre, Shantavia Williams, Shade St. Louis, Courtney Calka and Morgan Churchwell.

After being held scoreless on day one, the Eagles were again unable to notch a point with seven events in the books.

Tiffany Kincaid, Rachel Quaintance and Rachel Hollinger-Janzen each participated in the 10,000-meter run yesterday, but finished 10th, 13th and 14th respectively. In the javelin throw, Dayna Bergman finished 14th with a throw of 101-07, and Angela Scarber had a 150-04 hammer throw, good for 12th place.

The strength of the women's team will participate in the final events tomorrow in hopes of making up a large, but not insurmountable deficit.
