Men's T&F Earns One Title on First Day of MAC Championship

– Day one of the Mid-American Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championship concluded Thursday, May 13, with the Eastern Michigan University men's team claiming one individual title and picking up points in two of the four events run.

Freshman Terefe Ejigu, who holds the conference's fastest time in the 5,000-meter run this year, took home his first MAC Title as the New Zealander won the 10,000-meter race in 30:01.17 to claim 10 points for the Green and White.

Other scorers were #R. P. White#, also in the 10,000-meter run (seventh place), and Joseph Tesner, in the pole vault (eighth place). Gregor Harzer also finished seventh in the decathlon, while Adam McMillian and Andrew Meyer participated in the pole vault and the hammer throw, respectively, but did not score.

Eastern currently sits in fifth place with its 13 points. Day two will start early Friday and the MAC Championship will conclude Saturday afternoon as the Eagles look to secure their 21st MAC Title.
