Brittany Horne (Okemos, MI/Okemos) will begin her quest into a deep post-season run as the senior will be in action on Friday in the semi-finals of the hammer at the NCAA Preliminary Round East Regional.

The event, which is being held in Greensboro, NC, on the campus of North Carolina A&T State University, can be seen with a live webstream and live results by clicking here. The hammer is set to start at 11:00 a.m.

The Horizon League Outstanding Field Event Performer, Horne won the hammer, as well as the discus, at the Horizon League Championships with a school and conference record toss of 61.30m/201' 1”. That throw has her ranked 14th in the NCAA and seventh in the East Region.

The hammer will see 48 women compete on Friday with the best 12 moving onto the NCAA Championships at Oregon. There will be three hammer flights, with Horne in the third, and the top 16 marks will move forward to receive three more attempts. From there, the top 12 throws will advance to Track Town, USA.
