Four Eagles Earn Academic All-MAC Honors

To be nominated, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA

YPSILANTI, Mich.- (EMUEagles.com) – Four individuals from the 2010 Eastern Michigan University outdoor track and field squad received Academic All-Mid-American Conference honors, the league office announced Wednesday, June 16.

Xavier Clais (Hanvillers, France), Oliver Walther (Erfurt, Germany-Pierre-de-Coubertin Gymnasium), Andrew Meyer (Minster, Ohio-Minster) and Lauren Quaintance (White Lake, Mich.-Walled Lake Northern) each were tabbed with the academic award. Clais, Walther and Meyer each also earned the honors during the indoor season.

To be nominated, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of the contests for that particular sport. First year students and junior college transfers in their first year of residence are not eligible for the award. Outstanding academic and athletic accomplishments from the current season only are considered.
