With the 2010 cross country season less than two months away, Director of Track and Field and Cross Country
Guy Murray announced the final three additions to his squad for the upcoming season in
Katelyn Cnossen (Sparta, MI/Sparta),
Rachel Hofsess (Milford, MI/Milford) and
Cecilia Pope (New Baltimore, MI/Anchor Bay). All three will also run on the Titan track and field program.
“I wouldn't be surprised to see all four of our newcomers (including Victoria Eger who signed back in February) in the varsity group next fall,” said Murray. “We could have a very tight pack which will help us at the Horizon League Championships.”
Cnossen is a three time Division 2 state qualifier who earned All-State honors in 2007 after placing 14th in the state finals. She was also a state qualifier in the 1600 and 3200m in 2007 and the 4x800m as a senior.
Hofsess was a state qualifier in cross country as a junior and senior, while running on the 4x800-meter relay, which also had back to back state qualifying appearances.
A Division 1 state qualifier on the 4x800m, Pope also helped her quartet to a regional championship as a senior.
The three join
Victoria Eger (Buchanan, MI/Buchanan), a four-time Division 3 state cross country qualifier and a two-time All-State honoree (2006, 2008), as freshmen harriers for the Titans this season.
