CLEVELAND, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) -- The Eastern Michigan University women's cross country team was picked to place fifth at the 2010 Mid-American Conference championship as voted on by the league's head coaches.
EMU finished sixth at last year's championships with a total of 157 points. Sophomore
Courtney Calka (Livonia, Mich.-Stevenson) led the Eagles with a sixth place finish at last year (22:35.6) helping earn her first-team All-MAC honors.
The RedHawks from Miami University won the title with 44 points, followed by the University of Toledo (63 points), University of Akron (104 points), Central Michigan University (116 points), Kent State University (143 points), EMU (157), Bowling Green State University (212 points), Northern Illinois University (218 points), Ohio University (218 points), Western Michigan University (250 points), Ball State University (269 points) and the University at Buffalo (317 points).
The 2010 Mid-American Conference Cross Country Championships, hosted by Western Michigan, will be held Saturday, Oct. 30.
