- The Eastern Michigan University Women's Cross Country team clinched first place today, Sept. 17, at the 6,000 meter George Dales Invitational hosted by Western Michigan University.

Sophomore Courtney Calka (Livonia, Mich-Stevenson) led the Green and White this afternoon. Her first place finish at 20:48.20 set a Pine View Golf Club 6k course record, and is her second consecutive first place finish this season, as she won the Michigan Open on Sept. 3, crossing the finish line at 17:42.0.

Morgan Churchwell (Ada, Mich.-Forest Hills Central) finished at 22:08.3, good for a third place finish, while Tiffany Kincaid (Clarkston, Mich.-Clarkston) took fifth (22:33.5), and Rachel Quaintance (White Lake, Mich.-White Lake Northern) claimed sixth place at (22:36.3).

Natalie Webb (Allen Park, Mich.-Woodhaven) and Lauren Quaintance (White Lake, Mich.-White Lake Northern) rounded out the top ten, finishing seventh and tenth respectively.

The Eagles will return to action Oct. 2 at the Adidas Invitational hosted by the University of Wisconsin. The event is slated for an 11 a.m. start.
