Men's Track Releases 2010-11 Schedule

EMU Open and EMU Twilight highlight indoor, outdoor home schedules

YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University men's track and field team released their indoor and outdoor schedules for the 2010-11 season, Thursday, Sept. 30, as the team embarks on its quest to repeat as Mid-American Conference Champions. The season is highlighted with two trips to the University of Michigan and two additional trips to the University of Notre Dame.

The indoor schedule is set to kick off on Jan. 8, 2011, with the annual Eastern Michigan Invitational at Bob Parks Track in Bowen Field House. From there, the Eagles will embark on back-to-back in-state meets as the team travels to Mt. Pleasant, Mich. for the Triangular Meet with Central Michigan, Detroit and Oakland, then to the University of Michigan for the Harvey/Simmons Invitational in Ann Arbor, Mich.

On Jan. 29, Eastern will travel to Madison, Wisc. for a Quad against Wisconsin, Purdue and Indiana State as a prep for the classic Notre Dame Meyo Invitational in South Bend, Ind.

The regular season will wrap up with the Grand Valley Big Meet in Allendale, Mich. and the Michigan Silverston Invitational in Ann Arbor before heading to the MAC Championships at Bowling Green State University on Feb. 25-26, to defend the title from the 2009-10 season. The indoor season will conclude at the Notre Dame Alex Wilson Invite, again in South Bend, Ind., before eligible qualifiers

The outdoor season will begin April 2 with the Triangular versus Buffalo, Central Michigan in Toledo, Ohio before heading to Tennessee on April 8-9 for the Sea Relays in Knoxville. Gainseville, Fla. will be the Eagles' next stop on the schedule as the team is set to compete in the Florida Tom Jones Invitational.

The EMU Twilight is one of the highlighted meets on the men's schedule as the two day event is the signature home meet for the outdoor season. The Eagles will stay in state for the next two weeks, traveling to Hillsdale, Mich. April 29-30 for the Hillsdale Relays, and to Ann Arbor, Mich. May 6-7 for the Len Paddock Invitational.

The MAC Championships will conclude the season for the Eagles before the NCAA Regionals come calling, May 26-28, and the NCAA National Championships get underway in Des Moine, Iowa June 8-11.
