YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) —The Eastern Michigan University men's cross country team will be heading to the 55th annual Notre Dame Invitational in South Bend, Ind. this Friday, Oct. 1.
The Eagles last competed in the Notre Dame Invite in 2009, where they took third place overall, led by
Curtis Vollmar's second place finish time of 24:34.
R.P. White took 10th place (25:12), and teammate
Matt Hammersmith (Wolcottville, Mich.-Prairie Heights), placed 12th overall with a time of 25:17, just five seconds out of a top-10 finish.
The Eagles will look to build upon their successes so far this season, as they will face some of the country's best competition. The invite will feature 37 teams divided into two divisions, and will be held on the nine-hole golf course located on Notre Dame's campus. The event is scheduled for a 2:45 p.m. start.
