Can you throw a baseball or softball far? Can you get that perfect football spiral in the air or are you just a great athlete looking for a new challenge? Maybe you were a former javelin athlete at your previous school. Well the Titan track and field team is looking for you as Detroit will be holding open tryouts for javelin.
The Titans are looking for athletes who are willing to put in the time and effort to become a varsity contributor in the javelin. No track and field experience is necessary, but you will learn from some of the area's best coaches in UDM head coach
Guy Murray, assistant coach
Brad Fairchild and former Detroit All-American and two-time Horizon League javelin champion in graduate assistant coach
Krista Switzer.
Tryouts are currently scheduled for Oct. 13-15 from 1:30-3:00 p.m. 3pm. The three days of tryouts will encompass a number of drills for physical testing to find your potential as a Division I track and field athlete.
All those interested in participating in open tryouts must meet the following criteria:
You MUST:
• be a full-time UDM student as well as meet NCAA Division I eligibility requirements
• complete the necessary Detroit tryout sports medicine forms and have proof of insurance, all of which can be explained and accessed by
