Paced the performance of three top 100 runners, the Detroit Titans women's cross country team earned sixth place out of the Division I contingent at the 2010 Michigan Intercollegiate, held at the Katke Cousins Golf Course in Rochester Hills.

"It was a tougher course than I expected, but the team ran pretty well out here in warm conditions," said head coach Guy Murray.

Sophomore Alexandria Vintevoghel (Casco, MI/Marine City) again topped the Titan runners as she took 49th overall in 19:41.

Junior Kirstin Mooney (Stirling, ON/St. Theresa Catholic) had one of her best runs on the year as the veteran harrier was the second Titan in at a flat 20:00, good for 66th place, while sophomore Katrina Oberski (Clyde, MI/Port Huron) clocked a 20:23 for 82nd.

Freshman Rachel Hofsess (Milford, MI/Milford) was just outside the top 100 as the UDM newcomer placed 102nd in 20:47.

Another freshman, Victoria Eger (Buchanan, MI/Buchanan) posted a time of 21:04 for 114th, while sophomore Sarah Martinez (Grand Blanc, MI/Flint Powers) claimed 128th in 21:29.

Overall, the UDM team totaled 177 points.

Detroit will have one final race before the Horizon League Championships on Oct. 30 as the Titans make their way to Big Ten country when they run in the Penn State Nationals next Saturday.
