INDIANAPOLIS -- For the second week in a row, the Detroit Titans men's cross country team has been honored by the Horizon League as senior runner
Pat Liederbach (Petoskey, MI/Petoskey) was tabbed the HL's Men's Cross Country Athlete of the Week.
Liederbach follows senior
Ryan Ayala who won the award last week.
The three-time All-League harrier garners the honor after leading Detroit to a 20th-place finish in the highly competitive Penn State Nationals. In a race with 18 ranked teams running, Liederbach was able to post a 29th-place tally, out of 266 runners, in 26:03.
It is the third time in his career that Liederbach has earned the accolade following a 26:52 as a freshman at the 8k 2007 Michigan Intercollegiate and a 25:59 in the same event as a sophomore. In both races, he recorded a seventh-place finish.
Liederbach will now go after his second award in a week in the Horizon League Network's 'People's Choice'. Fans can vote for their favorite HL Athlete of the Week starting Monday night by visiting
www.horizonleague.org. Voting will end on Wednesday at 4:00 p.m., with the winner announced on Thursday.
