Eagles Take Fourth At Michigan Intercollegiate

The Eagles score 72 points in their fourth place finish at the Katke-Cousins Golf Course this afternoon

— The Eastern Michigan University women's cross country team took fourth place today, Oct. 8 at the 5,000-meter Michigan Intercollegiate hosted by Oakland University.

The Eagles placed two runners in the top ten at the Katke-Cousins Golf Course in Rochester, Mich., earning 72 points. Sophomore Courtney Calka (Livonia, Mich.-Stevenson) continued to impress as she finished first overall with a finish time of 17:16.0. This marks Calka's third first place finish this season as well as her fastest finish time in her young career.

Natalie Webb (Allen Park, Mich.-Woodhaven) recorded her best time this season and was the next EMU runner to finish at 18:36.1, good for ninth place. She was followed by teammate Rachel Quaintance (White Lake, Mich.-White Lake Northern) who placed 23rd with a time of 19:04.1.

Cassie Coffman (Chelsea, Mich.-Chelsea) and Tiffany Kincaid (Clarkston, Mich.-Clarkston) finished 32nd and 34th respectively, rounding out the top 35 in a field of 224 runners.

The Green and White will return to action next Sat. Oct. 16, when they head to the Penn State National Invitational. The race is slated for a 10 a.m. start.
