Women’s Cross Country Takes 8th In Horizon League Championships

Women's Horizon League Championship Results

CHICAGO – The Detroit Titan women's cross country team finished eighth in the 2010 Horizon League Championships. Detroit ended the day with 187 points, just four shy of UIC.

Alexandria Vintevoghel was the first Titan to cross the finish line in 26th place. Vintevoghel ran a season-best 19:21.80 on Saturday. Junior #Kirstin Mooney# was close behind with a 28th place finish. Mooney finished in 19:31.00.

Sophomore Katrina Oberski placed 32nd finishing in 19:40.92, while freshman Rachel Hofsess took 49th place in 20:17.19. Sarah Martinez rounded out the top five for Detroit. Martinez ran a season-best 20:30.27.

Other Titans in action on Saturday included #Victoria Eger#, Cecilia Pope, and #Tressanique Hampton#. Eger placed 61st with a season-best time of 20:55.18, while Pope and Hampton each knocked off some time from their personal records. Pope crossed the line at 21:19.11 for 63rd place, and Hampton ran in 21:22.43 for 64th.
