YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) — The Eastern Michigan University women's cross country team will head to Rochester, Mich. this Saturday, Nov. 13 to compete in the NCAA Great Lakes Regional.
The Eagles are coming off of a fifth place finish at the Mid-American Conference Championships, where they improved one spot from the team's 2009 performance.
Courtney Calka (Livonia, Mich.-Stevenson) paced the Eagles with her fifth place overall finish (21:03.9) and also earned first team All-MAC accolades for the second time in her career.
EMU will also look to improve on their 2009 regional outing, where the Green and White placed 16th overall. Calka earned All-Region honors after leading the squad with her 17th place overall finish after crossing the line at 21:33.08.
The 2010 Great Lakes Regional will be hosted by Oakland University at the Katke-Cousins Golf Course. Parking for spectators will be in the main Golf Course parking lot. Overflow parking will be located in the open field on the corner of Meadowbrook Rd and Adams Rd. Spectators will be charged $10.00 per car. The women's 6K event is scheduled for a noon start.
