INDIANAPOLIS -- Lesley Hanna (Exuma, Bahamas, Coakley) has been recognized by the Horizon League as the men's indoor track and field runner of the week, as announced by the league office on Dec. 7. Hanna and the Titans opened the season at the Blue and Gold Invitational last weekend on Dec. 3.

Having Hanna get off to a good start is important for Detroit, as last year's indoor team MVP missed some time during the 2009 outdoor season with an injury. At Notre Dame Hanna took first place in the 500 meters, posting a time of 1:04.05. The mark was the third-best in Detroit history, and it also set a new personal best for Hanna.

The senior also ran the first leg of the men's 4x400 meter relay which finished third. The group finished the race in 3:23.87

Detroit will compete at the Macomb Opener this weekend in Warren, Mich.
