CLEVELAND, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) -- For his efforts at the Wisconsin Elite Invitational this past weekend, sophomore speedster
Vanier Joseph was named the Men's Track Athlete of the Week today, Feb. 1, by the Mid-American Conference.
Joseph continued his record-setting ways, this time taking down a mark at the Wisconsin Shell Track in the 60-meter high hurdle. The sophomore speedster eclipsed a Wisconsin indoor track record by posting a time of 7.80 seconds in the 60-meter high hurdles during the preliminary round, good for the ninth-best time in the NCAA this year. Joseph also finished fourth in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.08.
For the two-time MAC Champion, it was the first MAC Athlete of the Week award the runner has received.
The MAC Athlete of the Week is awarded weekly to the conference's most outstanding performer, as judged by a panel of coaches and conference personnel.
