CLEVELAND, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) - The Mid-American Conference announced today, Feb. 8, that Eastern Michigan University sophomore distance runner
Terefe Ejigu is the recipient of this week's MAC Male Track Athlete of the Week as decided on by a panel of conference affiliates. It was the first time he has won the award.
Ejigu showed why he is the reigning Mid-American Conference Most Valuable Performer as the distance runner won the men's 3,000-meter run at the famed Notre Dame Meyo Invitational in South Bend, Ind. The event hosted more than 1,700 athletes. Ejigu's time of 8:08.58 was the best time in the MAC in the event since January 2007.
Ejigu and the Eagles will stay in the state of Michigan this weekend as they travel to Allendale for the Grand Valley State University Big Meet.
