Men's Complete Results
ANN ARBOR -- The men's track and field team competed in the Silverston Invite this Saturday at Michigan. The invite served as the last tune-up for Detroit as the team will compete in the Horizon League Championships next weekend.
Lesley Hanna (Exuma, Bahamas, Coakley) led Detroit with a first place finish in the 600-meter run finishing in 1:22.57. He moves to ninth all-time on the Titan Top 10 list.
Joe Raffin (Valparaiso, IN, Chesterton) (1:23.24) and
Matt Mahler (Thorold, ON, Denis Morris Catholic) (1:23.26) were close behind for second and third place. Hanna also competed in the high jump event. The senior cleared 6-4.75 placing him third.
Three Titans set a personal record in the mile.
Ryan Ayala (Coopersville, MI, Coopersville) set his PR by crossing the finish line at 4:22.60 to take second place in his heat.
Robert Radlich (Cheektowaga, NY, Cleveland Hill) and
Chris Smalley (Gladwin, MI, Gladwin) also ran a great mile with Radlich clocking in at 4:22.75 (3rd Place), while Smalley ran a 4:33.07 (5th Place).
Patrick Liederbach (Petoskey, MI, Petoskey) won his heat in the 800-meter run (1:55.67). Senior
Kevin Wozniak (Dearborn, MI, Edsel Ford) took second place behind Liederbach in the same heat. He clocked in at 2:00.62.
Earnest Cleary (Detroit, MI, Ferndale ) finished third for Detroit in the 60-meter dash. Cleary ran a season-best 6.94.
Vushaun Landrum (Windsor, ON, Sandwich Secondary) also ran a season-best with a time of 6.98.
Charles Anthony (Northville, MI, Farmington) also competed in the 60-meter dash. He ran a PR and finished second in his heat.
Taylor Hennrick (Traverse City, MI, St. Francis) also had a PR with a time of 7.38 to win the third heat.
Vince Lefler (Midland, MI , Midland) competed in the 400-meter run alongside
Anthony Donald (Waterville, OH, Anthony Wayne). Lefler finished in third at 52.10, while Donald clocked a time of 52.35 for fourth place.
Off the track,
Ja'Quan Patterson (Ypsilanti, MI, Ypsilanti) took fourth in the second flight with a leap of 21-11.75 in the long jump.
Floyd Hoskin (Gary, IN, Bowman Academy) ended the day in second place in the first flight (21-1.25). Hoskin set a PR in the triple jump with a leap of 45-1.50. He finished in second, while Patterson took third place with a distance of 44-8.
The Titans will compete in the Horizon League Championships next weekend (Feb. 26-27) at the GaREAT Sports Complex located in Geneva, Ohio. Detroit previously ran on the track back on January 28 at the GaREAT Collegiate Open.
