Titans Finish Seventh at Horizon League Championships

Final Results

GENEVA, Ohio – The women's track and field team finished seventh in the 2011 Horizon League Indoor Track & Field Championships. Sequoyia Calhoun (Belleville, MI, Belleville) highlighted the day with a first place finish in the 400-meter dash.

Calhoun won the 400-meter dash with a time of 56.03. The senior also made it to the finals in the 200-meter dash where she ended the race in eighth place (27.30).

Kirstin Mooney (Stirling ON, St. Theresa Catholic) ran well for Detroit in the 800-meter run. Mooney placed third in the finals with a time of 2:14.81. She earned six points for the team.

Freshman Brandee Hart (Oak Park, MI, Berkley) made it to the finals in the 60-meter hurdles. Hart ran a 9.27 in the prelims, and took eighth place in the finals with a time of 9.20.

The combo of Calhoun, Mooney, and Hart joined senior Megan Miller (Zanesville, OH, Zanesville) to form the women's 4x400 meter relay team. This group earned fourth place with a time of 3:57.83.

Off the track, Stephanie Cuniberti (Macomb, MI, Dakota) earned points for Detroit in the high jump. The freshman cleared 5-0.5 to grab two points for the team.
