Women’s Track & Field Competes at Colonial Relays

Final Results

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – The women's track and field team recorded 12 points to place 25th overall at the Colonial Relays. 40 teams competed in Williamsburg over the weekend.

The best performance for the team came in the 1600 sprint medley. The team of Brandee Hart, Nicole Meisner, Calhoun, and Kirstin Mooney placed second overall with a time of 4:10.41.

Sequoyia Calhoun clocked in at 57.48 to take fifth place in the 400-meter dash. She scored four points for Detroit in the event.

The distance medley group of Rachel Hofsess, Olivia Smid, Sarah Martinez, and Katrina Oberski just missed scoring with a ninth place finish. The team clocked in at 13:10.82.

Mooney and Smid ran well in the 400-meter hurdles. Mooney finished in 14th place with a time of 1:05.25, while Smid took 25th clocking in at 1:07.98. Katie Taylor was also in action in the event. She finished in 34th place with a time of 1:10.83.
