Horizon League Release

INDIANAPOLIS – Senior Lesley Hanna (Exuma, Bahamas, Coakley) has been recognized as the Track Athlete of the Week as announced by the Horizon League office. Hanna helped the Titans finish eighth at the Colonial Relays by participating in four events.

Hanna competed in the 400-meter dash and was a part of three relays teams. In the 400m, Hanna took down nearly 60 participants with a first place time of 48.48.

He was also a part of the 4x200 meter relay team that set a new school record winning with a time of 1:27.28. Deonte Osayande (Detroit, MI, Winans Academy), Vushaun Landrum (Windsor, ON, Sandwich Secondary), and Earnest Cleary (Detroit, MI, Ferndale ) rounded out the 4x200 team.

Hanna was a part of two other relay teams that performed well at the Colonial Relays. The 4x100 team of Landrum, Hanna, Osayande, and Cleary finished in sixth with a time of 42.49, and the 4x400 group of Joe Raffin (Valparaiso, IN, Chesterton), Vince Lefler (Midland, MI , Midland), Chris Smalley (Gladwin, MI, Gladwin) and Hanna placed seventh with a time of 3:17.85.

Detroit is back in action this weekend as they host a dual meet against Oakland on April 9. Field events will begin at 4:00 p.m., while the running events get underway at 4:30.

Alumni, students, and fans of all ages are welcome to attend the meet for free on Saturday. Special activities include a Tommy Titan vs. Oakland Grizzly Kid's Race, an Alumni / Open / Student Mile Run, and a Senior Day Presentation for both the men's and women's programs.
