The 6th Annual Detroit vs. Oakland Dual featured many special events. The Kid's Race with Tommy Titan and the Oakland Grizzly was fun, yet the most memorable moment occurred during the open mile when Amanda Campbell returned to the track with many teammates by her side.

Campbell has been forced out of action recently due to a health scare. The Lockport, N.Y. native recently had surgery to remove cancer in her thyroid. This procedure forced her to miss the entire indoor track in field season, which she excelled in a year ago.

Campbell had been at home recovering from her surgery. Her doctor cleared her to participate in the open mile, which allowed her to return to Titan Field to be among her coaches and teammates.
