Men’s Track and Field Competes in California

Mt. SAC Relay Results

WALNUT, Calif. – Members of the men's track and field team competed in California on Friday afternoon.

Lesley Hanna was the overall winner in the 400-meter dash with a blazing time of 46.72. Hanna won the first heat with the time, and it held as the day's fastest in the event. 46.72 is a new Detroit record. Hanna also won heat number four in the 200-meter dash. He lowered his personal best to 21.46.

The fifth heat at the Mt. SAC Relays featured Vushaun Landrum, Earnest Cleary, and Super Bowl Champion Willie Gault. Landrum finished in second place (11.00) while Cleary was close behind in fourth (11.13). Gault crossed the line in sixth place at 11.31.

Deonte Osayande was also in action in the 100-meter dash after suffering an injury last week. He finished in fifth place (11.82).

Landrum joined Hanna by participating in the 200-meter dash. He got stuck in a huge heat that featured nine athletes. Landrum finished in sixth place finishing in 22.08.

Mahler represented Detroit in the 800-meter dash. He was placed in a monster heat that was composed of 16 athletes. After getting out to a good start he held on to finish fifth (1:53.37).

Another group of Titans participated in the Bryan Clay Invitational. Anthony Donald, Vince Lefler and Aviram Campbell all set a personal record in the 400-meter hurdles. Donald was the top titan clocking in at 54.61 followed closely by Lefler at 54.74. Campbell finished the race in 57.32. Campbell also competed in the 110-meter hurdles. He won his heat with a time of 15.22 (0.3 off his PR).

Brian Greenhoe was involved in the 800-meter run. He finished the race in 1:58.23. Off the track, Ja'Quan Patterson competed in the long jump. Patterson leaped 22-8.50.
