NORWALK, CA – Members of the women's track and field team competed in the Beach Invitational hosted by Long Beach State over the weekend.

The 4x400-meter relay team of Kirstin Mooney, Susan Kalkstein, Katie Taylor, and Sequoyia Calhoun gave Detroit a top ten finish. The group finished in ninth with a time of 4:00.41.

Kirstin Mooney competed in the 800-meter run. She ended the meet in 61st with a time of 2:21.00. Senior Katie Taylor ran the 400-meter hurdles in 1:11.69. She finished in 43rd place.

Nikia Duncan placed 29th in the 100-meter dash with a personal best time of 12.47. She came back to the track to compete in the 200-meter dash alongside teammate Sequoyia Calhoun. Duncan ran 25.92 for 48th place, and Calhoun was right behind her in 49th (25.94).

Off the track, Susan Kalkstein placed 26th in the triple jump with a distance of 35-7.25.
