Indoor Track and Field Place Three on Academic All-League Team

INDIANAPOLIS – Three athletes from the Detroit Titan indoor track and field program were selected to the Horizon League Academic All-League Team for the winter season. Patrick Liederbach and Vushaun Landrum where chosen from the men's team, while Kirstin Mooney represented the women's team.

The Academic All-League Team recognizes student-athletes for their success both in competition and in the classroom. The selections are voted on by the league's faculty athletics representatives and sports information directors.

The Horizon League recognizes student-athletes with seasonal Academic All-League Teams in each of its 19 championship sports. To be eligible for Academic All-Horizon League consideration, a student-athlete must have a cumulative grade-point-average of 3.20 or higher (based on a 4.00 scale) and have completed at least one year at the member institution, having earned 24 semester-hour or 36 quarter-hour credits.

Kirstin Mooney holds a 3.53 grade point average and is majoring in protective services. Highlights from her senior indoor track and field season includes moving to third all-time on the Titan Top 10 list with a time of 2:14.81 in the 800-meter run at the Horizon League Championships, and also breaking the Titan all-time record in the 600-meter run at the Silverston Invite (1:35.66).

Vushaun Landrum is a business major with a grade point average of 3.42. Landrum was the fastest man in the Horizon League as he was crowned champion in the 60-meter dash with a time of 6.85. He also took a fourth place finish in the 200-meter dash at the Horizon League Championships with a time of 21.91.

Patrick Liederbach also made the Academic All-League Team with a 3.39 grade point average as an Education major. Liederbach set the Detroit Titan indoor school record by running a 4:09.64 mile at the Alex Wilson Invite. He also took fifth place at the HL Championships in the 3,000-meter run, crossing the finish line in at 8:31.92. His season-best 3,000-meter time was 8:29.29 at the Simmons-Harvey Invite and his best 5,000-meter time came at the Blue & Gold Invite (14:38.84).
